Terms, privacy, and what a verdict means.

Disclaimer

Sepcrium is a research tool. It is not investment advice.

Sepcrium is not a broker-dealer, an investment adviser, or a member of FINRA or SIPC. We are not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in any capacity.

Nothing on this site or in the product is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. Nothing we publish is tailored to any individual's financial situation, holdings, objectives, or risk tolerance, and the product is deliberately built so that it cannot be — we do not ask what you own and we do not condition any output on it.

We do not publish buy or sell signals, price targets, model portfolios, or ranked recommendations. We do not connect to brokerage accounts, hold credentials, or execute orders.

We make no performance claims. Backtest results, where the product produces them, are hypothetical, are generated by the user from parameters the user chose, and do not represent any actual trading. Hypothetical results have inherent limitations — among them that they are constructed with hindsight and do not reflect the effect of real capital, real liquidity, or the decisions a person actually makes under loss. Past performance, real or simulated, does not indicate future results.

What a screening result is

A screening result is the output of a published arithmetic test, applied to a company's own filings with the SEC, on a basis we name on every verdict.

It is not a fatwa. It is not a certification. It is not our declaration that a security is permissible for you. It is not endorsed by AAOIFI, FTSE, MSCI, S&P, Dow Jones, or any index provider, and no such organisation is affiliated with Sepcrium. Where we name a standard, we are describing whose published criteria our arithmetic is consistent with — nothing more.

Recognised screening standards genuinely disagree with each other. A company that passes here may fail elsewhere. We show you where and why rather than concealing it, but the choice of which standard governs your own practice is yours, and is properly made with a qualified scholar.

Data and accuracy

Financial data comes from public filings made with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and is presented as filed. Filings contain errors. Companies restate. Tags change between periods. XBRL is prepared by filers, not by the SEC, and its quality varies.

We make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any purpose of anything on this site or in the product. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim liability for any loss arising from reliance on it. You are responsible for your own investment decisions.

Privacy

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we store: the email address you enter, your answer to the "which would you actually use" question, your optional free-text note, the referring page, and a timestamp. That is the entire record.

It is held in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database. The public key embedded in this site can insert rows and cannot read them back — the list is not readable from the browser by us or by anyone else.

We use it to email you once, when there is something to open. We do not sell it, we do not rent it, we do not share it with partners, and we do not add you to a newsletter. Reply to any email asking to be removed and you will be, permanently.

The site

No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, no cookies set by us. Nothing is stored in your browser by this site. Our host keeps standard server request logs.

The product

Screening a ticker requires no account and creates no user record. When accounts exist for the paid workbench, they will hold the minimum needed to run it, and payment card details will be handled entirely by our payment processor and never touch our servers.

Terms of use

You may use Sepcrium for your own research, personal or professional. You may export your data — CSV export exists precisely so that your work is not hostage to us.

Please do not: scrape the site in a way that degrades it for others, redistribute bulk output as a competing screening feed, or represent our output as certification, as advice, or as the position of any index provider or standards body.

The service is provided as-is. We may change the methodology; material changes are logged and dated on the methodology page.

Jurisdiction

Sepcrium covers US-listed securities and is offered from the United States. It is not directed at any jurisdiction where offering it would require registration or authorisation we do not hold. If local law where you are treats a screening tool as regulated financial advice, this product is not for you.

Contact

Corrections, challenges to a verdict, privacy requests, and legal notices all go to the same place — the address on the waitlist confirmation email. Challenges to a verdict get a published outcome, per the ethical policy.
